Blogging is OUT – Lifestreaming is IN

September 29th, 2009 No comments

Steve Rubel has an interesting article in AdAge this morning about blogging vs. lifestreaming.  The difference?  Blogging is a single destination or platform that you entice people to come to and engage thru comments, linking and forwarding.  Lifestreaming is taking a thought, slicing it up into multiple formats and placing it on multiple platforms (think of it as hub and spoke).

Endeavour adopted this tactic a few months ago and we can tell you the results have been impressive.  We’ve engaged this through multiple blog platforms, social media hubs, video, etc.  You cannot predict where your audience is going to be on any given day, it’s like a moving target, so be in a many places as you can!

Neilsen and Facebook to Team Up to Provide Metrics in Social Media Space

September 22nd, 2009 No comments

Social Media has generated alot of buzz in business circles and those who utilize it, know the benefits but the larger business world has been a bit slow to embrace due to “fuzzy metrics” of ad measurement.

Facebook and Neilsen plan to change that!

New i-Phone App Shines the Light on Silver Linings

September 21st, 2009 No comments

Okay -

This is just brilliant strategy and cutting-edge creativity executed to perfection BUT if you don’t like the human body, just click to the next blog post!

PUMA, widely-praised and respected for it’s creative initiatives over the course of the past few years has recently launched a creative i-Phone app that will have you cheering if your stocks rise or fall!

The PUMA Index monitors various stock market indexes (3) and if the stock index rises, a model adds clothes.  If the stock index falls, the model takes off clothes (no nudity, though!).

Here’s the brilliance.

The payoff, depending on the market rise and fall, sees the model (male or female) in the new Puma bodywear – TALK ABOUT PRODUCT PLACEMENT, it keeps the app on your phone – TOP OF MIND AWARENESS, offers premium buzz – HELLO, YOU’RE READING THIS and taps into something everyone in the Country is concerned about – THE FINANCIAL MARKETS while simultaneously taking the edge off!

Simply, BRILLIANT!  Oh

See the PUMA Index on Youtube

New Local Advertising Application Might Just Be a Game-Changer!

September 21st, 2009 No comments

There are alot of geography-based apps already out there and in develop that promise the “Local Holy Grail” but a company, FourSquare seems to not only have figured out the intracacies of programming but also the intracacies of marketing the product…oh, and being first to market HELPS…a bunch.

FourSquare has launched a business services model that acts like a game (let’s face it, who doesn’t have a gaming system now!) to encourage sign ups, usage and redemptions.

Endeavour Marketing and Media is excited to test this for a few of our clients and we’ll let you know the results!

Bing is Definitely Coming Out Swinging!

September 21st, 2009 No comments

Gone are the days when the digital behemoth would just copy a service and hope it’s scale would push the smaller competitor down the proverbial flight of stairs! I guess Ballmer and company are learning from their first foray into search (disaster!) and are not taking anything for granted with BING.

Not only has Bing come out with a great branding campaign (It’s a decision engine!) but now they are offering a trial logo with text ads to make the space richer.

Bing has been steadily gaining “search share” since it’s launch (though it is still dwarfed by GOOGLE) so it will be interesting to see if the logo addition will continue this climb.

Google and Bing Unveil New Search Options

September 17th, 2009 No comments

Bing has launched a visual search function where you can review photo catelogues instead of text (kind of like, I know what it looks like but I don’t know the name.  Very cool, because as Humans anytime you engage one of our senses (sight) it’s more effective than anything we have to read!

Google has launched FastFlip which provides “News” results in a magazine format.  Hey, they’re keeping it fresh with new formats but what about “real-time” search Google.  Twitter is eating your lunch here!
